Title:Race and ethnicity in mutli-ethnic schools: a critical case study
Abstract:An examination of representation of race and ethnicity in a mutli-ethnic school. How representation, and the discourses that make it possible, are often contested by students, parents and educators. And in so doing, the book examines how the process of representation works through stereotyping, curriculum, identity and language practices to provide advantages for some and penalise others. Also provides suggestion for how educators can make it possible for traditionally marginalised students to have their voices heard, and to develop meanings and representations that work in their interests.
