Governor General launches Racism. No way!

Racism. No way! was launched on Friday 27th October 2000 by the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia His Excellency The Honourable Sir William Deane, AC, KBE.

The Racism. No way! project aims to assist school communities and education systems to recognise and address racism in the learning environment. For the first time, the project assesses the extent of racism in Australian schools and provides a consistent approach across the nation for challenging it.

The project has resulted in the development of a number of resources for Australian schools including a guide for Australian schools, a special edition newsletter and the Racism. No way! website. Copies of the guide and newsletter will be distributed to schools nationally in February 2001.
