Monitoring and reporting
Annual Report - Implementation of Aboriginal Education Policy and
Multicultural Education and Training Policy
Schools report to parents and the community on their implementation of the
Aboriginal Education Policy and the Multicultural Education and Training Policy
through their annual school reports. The Department of Education and Training
includes data from the school reports on achievements in these areas in the
Department's Annual Report.
Ethnic Affairs Priorities Statement (EAPS) Report
The NSW Department of Education and Training (DET) provides an annual report
to the NSW Ethnic Affairs Commission on achievements in ethnic affairs as set
out in the EAPS Plan. Each area of responsibility within DET reports on local
initiatives undertaken in multicultural education and ethnic affairs. DET also
rates its own performance against the EAPS Standards Framework in the five areas
of planning and evaluation; program and service delivery; staffing;
communication; and funded services.
Indigenous Education Strategic Initiatives Program (IESIP) Performance
Monitoring
The NSW Department of Education and Training (DET), like all states, provides
regular reports to the Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST) on its progress in meeting the performance targets set out in this funding agreement.
National Indigenous English Literacy and Numeracy Strategy (NIELNS) 2001-2004 Performance Report
Each year, the NSW Department of Education and Training is required to report on educational outcomes for Indigenous students participating in programs funded under the National Indigenous English Literacy and Numeracy Strategy (NIELNS).
Student Performance - Basic Skills Test (BST) and English Language and
Literacy Assessment (ELLA)
Student performance data from the Basic Skills Test (BST) and Primary Writing Assessment for Years 3 and 5 and from the English Language and Literacy Assessment (ELLA) and Secondary Numeracy Assessment Program (SNAP)for Years 7 and 8 are disaggregated and reported for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and students from non-English speaking backgrounds. Information on statewide trends in this data is provided in the Annual Report of the NSW Department of Education and Training.
