Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Career Aspirations Pathways Program (AICAPP)

A program focusing on enhancing career pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through provision of appropriate career education programs and resources. Integral to the program are:

  • a series of Careers Expos
  • incentives for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners to continue at school until completion of Year 10 when greater flexibility in schooling options become available
  • integration of literacy and numeracy targets with learning for life skills
  • career focussed curriculum resources for P-10 schools
  • provision of career guidance to students, schools, training providers and employer groups via the Murri Thusi Website.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Tertiary Aspirations Project (AITAP)

A program aimed at addressing the low retention rates of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in senior secondary school. By so doing, it is hoped the tertiary aspirations of students will be impacted upon. School community support is provided for students.

Student Reconciliation Forums

A series of student forums focusing on reconciliation. Indigenous and non-Indigenous students participate in workshops, performances and listen to guest speakers. The aim of these activities is to increase students' understandings of issues surrounding reconciliation.
